Marvel Upcoming Movies: Release Date 2023: The fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a family of American superhero films and television series produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters appearing in Marvel Comics publications. Phase five covers all Marvel Studios production slated for release from 2023 to mid-2024, with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributing the films while the series is released on Disney+. The first film in this phase is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia, to be released in February 2023, with the first series in phase following the second season of the animated film What If…? will be released in early 2023. Kevin Feige is producing each film and producing each series at this stage, along with producer Eric Carroll for Blade.

Films from this phase include Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, the ensemble Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels with Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Velani, Captain America: New World Order with Anthony Mackie, Thunderbolt and Blade ensemble with Mahershala Ali.
The Disney+ TV series from that phase included a second season of What If…? narrated by Jeffrey Wright, Secret Invasion starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, Echo starring Alaqua Cox, Loki Season 2 starring Tom Hiddleston, Ironheart starring Dominic Thorne, Agatha: Coven of Chaos starring Kathryn Hahn and Daredevil: Born Again starring Charlie Cox. Phase Five, along with Phase Four and Phase Six, make up the Multiverse Saga.
Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumia (2023)

Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, along with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, embark on a new adventure to explore the quantum realm.
Prior to the premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Peyton Reed and Marvel Studios anticipated that a third Ant-Man film would be made and had discussed possible plot points,[47] with Reed returning as director in November 2019 with Paul Rudd and Evangeline. Lilly as Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne / Wasp. Jeff Loveness is writing the script through April 2020, with a new title and cast announced in December. Filming began in Turkey in early February 2021while filming began at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire in late July 2021 and finished in November. Filming is also scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia and San Francisco to continue through 2022. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia is scheduled for release on February 17, 2023.
Jonathan Majors appears as Kahn the Conqueror, having first appeared as a variant of the character called The One Who Remains in the first season of Loki (2021).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (2023)
Peter Quill, still devastated by the loss of Gamora, must summon the Guardians of the Galaxy on a mission to protect the universe and one of their own.
A third Guardians of the Galaxy film was planned by Marvel Studios in April 2016 and James Gunn returned to write and direct a year later. Disney fired him in July 2018 after the controversial tweet resurfaced, but reversed course in October and reinstated Gunn as director. Gunn’s return was revealed along with the five main stars in early 2019, with production starting after Gunn completed his films The Suicide Squad (2021) and the spin-off series Peacemaker (2022). ) is complete. Kevin Feige confirmed that the film was in development at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2019. Filming began in November 2021 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta and ended in early May 2022. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is scheduled for release on May 5, 2023.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 takes place after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022).
The Marvels (2023)

Feige confirmed that a Captain Marvel (2019) sequel was in development at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2019, with Megan McDonnell writing the screenplay and Brie Larson returning as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel through January 2020. a female director on the film replaced Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who returned from the former, with Nia DaCosta hired to direct until August of that year. The film was announced as Captain Marvel 2 in December 2020, officially titled The Marvels revealed in May 2021. Filming for the second part began in New Jersey in mid-April 2021, while principal photography began in August at Pinewood. Studios in Buckinghamshire, Longcross Studios in Surrey and in Tropea. There was also a shooting in Los Angeles. Filming will be completed in May 2022. The Marvels is scheduled to premiere on July 28, 2023.
The Marvels is set against the events of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel (2022), with Iman Velani, Saagar Sheikh, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapoor reprising their respective roles as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, Repeat Aamir Khan, Muniba Khan and Yusuf Khan. Teyonah Parris returns as an adult Monica Rambo in the WandaVision (2021) series, having previously been portrayed as Akira Akbar’s daughter in Captain Marvel.
