Mr and Mrs Mahi Movie Review, Storyline and More
Mr and Mrs Mahi Movie Review: This is a beautifully crafted movie. With realism and not your over-the-top melo drama that mainstream Bollywood often regurgitates out. The movie is realistic, has a good story line & development throughout. But more particularly this movie should be seen for the acting prowess of Rajkumar Rao, Kumud Mishra and a decent performance by Jhanvi Kapoor.
Mr and Mrs Mahi Storyline
“Mr and Mrs Mahi” tells the story of a man who once dreamed of becoming a successful cricketer but fell short. He marries a doctor whose true passion lies in cricket. She initially abandons her cricketing dreams to pursue a medical career but eventually returns to the sport, achieving success with her husband as her coach. However, their relationship faces challenges as the husband’s contributions go unacknowledged. The film explores themes of celebrating each other’s successes and the importance of following one’s passions.
Despite these promising themes, “Mr and Mrs Mahi” fails to make a significant impact. Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor deliver solid performances, but they are unable to elevate the film above its weak screenplay, sluggish pacing, and lacklustre direction. Unless you have nothing else to do, this movie might not be worth your time. Instead, consider saving the money you’d spend on tickets and popcorn and investing it in the booming markets post-exit polls.
Some may argue that it is unfair to compare a 50 crore Bollywood movie to a 55-million-dollar Hollywood movie. But “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi” can’t hold its weight against even “Chak de! India” made 15 years ago with half its budget. Truly if Mrs. Mahi’s Indian team coach turned out to be Mr. Kabir Khan there is no doubt in my mind that she would dump Mr. Mahi!
