According to reliable sources, the much-awaited film “Kalki 2898 AD” has reportedly crossed the Rs 300 crore budget of “Salaar”, surpassing the Rs 260 crore budget of “Salaar”.
A source revealed, “The makers of Kalki have crossed the Rs 260 crore budget of ‘Salaar’, by spending over Rs 300 crore.”
The source also mentioned that the casting of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan along with the cost of technicians and the making of the Bujji car took up a significant portion of the budget.
Prabhas will have to show his box-office appeal once again to recoup his investments.
The source added, “This is the highest budget film of his career and Prabhas will have to achieve a sensational opening in the two Telugu states, the US and pan India. The business is estimated to cross Rs 350 crore including Rs 150 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.”
